Odyssey of the Minds

This year, Stamford’s Odyssey of the Mind program is fielding five middle school teams, with participating students representing Cloonan, Rippowam, Rogers, Scofield Magnet and Turn of River middle schools.   One of those teams includes 6th, 7th and 8th grade students from Rippowam and Rogers.  There are still two spots remaining on this team.  Odyssey of the Mind is the largest creative problem solving competition in the world, teaching public speaking, collaborative thinking, engineering, creative writing and more.

It is great to see the Odyssey program growing in Stamford.  This year, we are fielding 13 teams in total (up from 10 last year).  We are hopeful for another successful year at the state competition on April 2nd.  Last year, 3 of our teams advanced to the World competition, where they joined more than 800 teams from over 25 countries for a week of activities including competition, STEAM experiences and activities with NASA scientists. Please see attached flier if you are interested.

Canned food drive will be November 2nd-November 20th, collection boxes will be in the math classrooms! Spread the word!! We would like 100 participation from our students.
